A Short History
Marco Polo Travels opened its operations in 1984 looking at the burgeoning adventure travel possibilities out of Hong Kong. With its success it started diversifying into various potential markets for Nepal where promotional activities were non-existent. With successful partnerships with leading companies in Finland, Denmark, Sweden in Scandinavia and Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Korea in Asia, it built a strong base, successfully completing its own state-of-the art office complex at Kathmandu city center's latest business complex, Heritage Plaza II. In the course of its development Marco Polo has been actively updating its fleet of vehicles now consisting of Mitsubishi (Japan) and Sutlej (India) buses, various sizes of mini vans and cars.
MiceAs a founder member of Nepal Incentive & Convention Association (NICA), it is now leading the market in realizing its goal of expanding MICE tourism potential for Nepal. By taking part in joint promotions with the government, training its staff and gearing up to providing exemplary "luxury adventure" tours in the Himalayan region, Marco Polo best expresses its aspirations by the coinage of its marketing slogan "Top of the World for the Top Achievers of the World".

Marco Polo Travels is the pioneering company offering Outbound Tours in the Nepalese market with collaboration of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, China National Tourism Office in Kathmandu and selected incoming tour operators in the region. We offer Malaysia, Singapore, Indo-China and China to our customers. We represent Star Cruises in Nepal.
